
Brendan Larson
Brendan is co-founder and CEO of AbsoluteClimo (established in 2016), a global climate physics and financial risk modeling company which uses artificial intelligence to link skillful climate and related financial forecasts with business impacts. In the 1990s Brendan founded WeatherLabs and helped take it public on NASDAQ as the world’s first publicly-held online weather company before it was acquired by The Weather Channel (weather.com). In 2013 Brendan taught in one of the world’s first graduate courses on Environmental Finance at the University of Hawaii and co-invested in the program’s hedge fund. Brendan is an invited thought leadership presenter on climate finance innovation at events worldwide, and occasionally guest lectures on weather and climate risk and insurance at the University of Hawaii. Brendan has been quoted by The Wall Street Journal, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Artemis.bm, Reinsurance News and interviewed by ABC News Nightline, CNN Headline News and Asia Insurance Review. Brendan holds a B.S. in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University / John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences University of North Dakota.
